Being adopted is one of those. Despite not having experience with being adopted, I often see adults using age as a reason to invalidate a younger person&#8217;s experience with being an adoptee. &#8220;You&#8217;ll grow out of it.&#8221; &#8220;It&#8217;s just a phase.&#8221; &#8220;You&#8217;re young and don&#8217;t know better.&#8221; In this video, I discuss using age as invalidation and touch a little bit on the infantilization of adoptees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My videos are filmed and scheduled to publish weeks in advance. While I had the energy to discuss these topics then, I may be in a different place now. I don\u2019t want any adoptee to feel like I am ignoring their connections.
