My Speedy bag has always been a trusty companion of mine. While I love the lock and key detail, I was always unsure of what to use them for other than decor. The keys stayed in my interior purse pocket so I wouldn\u2019t lose them. The lock was fastened to the side tab, but even with the treated leather, I was afraid the heavy metal would stretch the leather. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One day, I was scrolling Instagram and saw a post by one of my favorite bloggers, Alyssa Lenore. She mentioned that Panahon Designs had repurposed some of her handbag charms into jewelry. I immediately contacted Panahon Designs to see if they could make some custom jewelry for me. Their site was filled with unique pieces and I wanted something similar, but with my own lock and key. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
They got back to me quickly and asked me to send them some photos from their site of styles I liked. They worked with me to figure out the best option for my lock and key. I shipped my stuff off to them (I paid for shipping) and they repurposed my lock and key into two necklaces. I was only expected one, so having another chain with a key was a wonderful surprise. In fact, I wear the key much more often because the lock is HEAVY!! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It took about 7 days from the time I shipped the lock and key to the time I received them back. I\u2019m extremely happy with the result and I am so glad I now have a use for my lock and key. The bag is very sentimental to me and having part of it made into jewelry makes it more special. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall, I\u2019m really happy and excited to wear my necklaces as statement pieces when I go out. Like I said above, the lock is very heavy so that I am reserving for a dinner out (once we can go out again). The key I wear on more day-to-day activities, but still when I\u2019m not just in sweats.
