Amber has woken up in a coma. She can\u2019t move, she can interact, she can\u2019t scream for help. She isn\u2019t certain how she got here, but she knows that she gets a bad feeling whenever her husband enters the room. As the days go on she starts to regain some of her memory, but will it help save those she loves and herself? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes I Lie is the book that pulled me out of a reading slump. Alice Feeney had my heart racing and I did not predict the twists that just kept coming. There was a heightened sense of fear that came with Amber being in a coma and watching things unfold around her. I turned the pages quickly and read this in three sittings because I was so invested. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I really wish there had been some trigger warnings (sexual assault and rape) or hints at the adult nature of this story. Perhaps there were and my ebook version just skipped right ahead to Chapter 1. Those scenes felt unnecessary because I could determine that the particular character was up to no good already. So, readers be aware that some scenes may be disturbing to read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall, I enjoyed the book. I liked how there were twists right up to the very end. It left the end a little ambiguous and open to many possibilities. This was a great thriller that actually brought the suspense and convinced me to immediately pick up another of Feeney\u2019s books. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
