As a caseworker at the Department in Charge of Magical Youth, he has learned to remain completely objective even in the the most surprising situations. When Extremely Upper Management sends him on a top secret mission, he finds himself on a distant island to observe an orphanage of very dangerous magical children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I loved this book. I didn&#8217;t read the book jacket summary and only had a vague idea of what this book was about. It was the perfect ready for a cozy day. It was funny and heartwarming. I fell in love with all of the characters. Klune was able to capture unique personalities for all of the characters and had me attached to everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was paced nicely too. There was conflict and plot, but I cared more about the character and relationship developments. I liked seeing Linus interact with everyone on the island and didn&#8217;t want their story to end. As an adopted person, I was a bit wary of the orphanage aspect but was overall happy with everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m honestly surprised by comforting I found this story. It was the kind of book I never want to out down and it will definitely be a go-to re-read when I need something light and heartwarming.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>5\/5 stars Linus Baker has always done what was expected of him.
