I read this in about 5 hours. I saw people raving about online and then, I not only picked up a copy, but won a special decorated copy from Katherine Center at her book signing!

This was a very quick read and heartwarming story. I sympathized with the protagonist, Cassie, as she worked to forgive the hardships of her past. It also helps that while Cassie moved from Austin to Rockport, MA, I moved from Boston to Austin. The imagery was descriptive and I was immediately immersed into the grit and charm of New England.

While I wish there was a bit more character development, I thought the story was well-paced and very well researched (especially after hearing Katherine detail how she visited multiple firehouses for an inside look and interviews). It was a great read for a summer Sunday.
