Dear Edward
5/5 stars
Eddie was halfway across the country when something unthinkable happened. The plane he and his family were on plummeted from the sky killing everyone… well, everyone except for Eddie. At just 12-years-old, Eddie must learn to live through this horrific tragedy and find himself along the way.
This was an incredibly moving novel. The chapters alternate between the moments leading up to the crash and Eddie’s life as he ages from 12 to 18. I connected so much with Eddie and was impressed by how much depth his character had. All the characters were developed wonderfully and allowed me to truly get a feel for the passengers on the plane and their mourning families.
The pacing of the novel was perfect. As Eddie grows up, you watch him face more of his past. Complementing those chapters are passages that take you closer and closer to the crash. It was heart-wrenching and emotional to follow these characters in this tragedy and to follow Eddie on his journey after.
This was truly an amazing book and I highly recommend you check it out when it is released on January 6, 2020!
