The Last Time I Lied

4/5 stars

15 years ago, Emma’s 3 cabin mates went missing and were never found. Their disappearances have haunted her since. Now, she returns to Camp Nightingale and mysterious things are happening again. Emma must face her past and figure out just how much was a lie.

Sad to say this was not my favorite of Sager’s. I enjoyed the camp/summer feels, but didn’t find it as thrilling as his other work. I definitely didn’t see the midway twist coming, but then the second half of the book slowed down. Like I hinted at, the final twist was good, but my heart wasn’t racing like it was in Final Girls or Lock Every Door. This is still a great thriller, but after reading his other books, I was hoping for another one-day page turner.
