When You See Me | Another Fantastic Thriller from Lisa Gardner
5/5 Stars
Lisa Gardner is back with Flora Danes, D.D. Warren, and Kimberly Quincy. When a body is found in the North Georgia mountains, the three team up to figure out if the victim is another of Jacob Ness’s. As they uncover more clues and bodies, they realize the quaint town they are staying in may be much more sinister than meets the eye.
I have read some of this series, but have not read all 10 books that come before it. I was initially worried this would be an issue, but luckily it wasn’t. While the three characters are recurring, I did not miss out on any information that was pertinent to the story. I was already familiar with the characters’ pasts and the information a reader would need was sprinkled in.
There are four perspectives to follow which could get a little confusing at times, but it made the story move quickly and kept me intrigued. I liked how each character had something unique to offer to the team. I was most interested in our “unknown” perspective, that of a young victim. Naturally, this perspective was also the most thrilling and spooky.
As I neared the end and plot twists were revealed, I couldn’t stop turning the pages. I finished this book in two days and had not predicted any of what happened. Lisa Gardner continues to be one of my go-to authors when it comes to thrillers and I like how even though the material is dark, it is never too gruesome for me to read. This was another solid read from Gardner and I recommend to fans of our three main characters.
