A Court of Frost and Starlight
3.5/5 stars
The Night Court is busy reviving the city after war while preparing for the Winter Solstice. While recovery looks different for all of them, Feyre is doing her best to keep her family together and help her sisters adjust to their new lives. This novella bridges the gap between A Court of Wings and Ruin and A Court of Silver flames.
I knew going into this that A Court of Frost and Starlight was more or less a filler story. Had I read the series as they were being published, this book would be more enjoyable for me. It was a light read and feel-good story. I can definitely see how I would love it more had I been anxiously awaiting the next book in the ACOTAR series.
While it wasn’t my favorite, I did still enjoy the story. It was a nice filler between the books. I did wish for a bit more tension or conflict. I had more trouble staying focused on the story. Part of that was due to the different perspectives. I appreciated the glimpses into the other characters’ minds, but had hoped to see more of them in a longer story (I guess I will get my wish in A Court of Silver Flames).
For a quick bridge between other books, ACOFAS did exactly what it was supposed to for me. I started becoming more interested in Nesta and Cassian and starting saying my goodbye to Feyre as my main character. I’m ready for A Court of Silver Flames.
