Vacation Time!!

It’s been a long time! Time for a 50% photo-blog! I’ve been reading at a much slower pace, and I went on vacation so there was not much time for blogging. 

Last week I passed my qualifying exam which took a bunch of stress away. I am finally back to researching and getting data! To celebrate, I thought I would take a short vacation to visit my family. My parents were already going to visit my sister, so I booked some tickets and flew out as well. We had a great time!  

As you can see, I did manage to take some bookish pictures and get some reading done. I visited a beautiful library and wished I could be on every floor and browsing through every book. For the most part, I just enjoyed family time and mostly not working for a long weekend (aside from responding to the occasional work email). I definitely feel recharged and ready to get back to work (maybe not the meetings and administrative work, but the bench work). 

Before I left, I also hit up the Barnes and Noble Blowout sale and picked up some good books. I am hoping to finish up The 7 ½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle soon and get reading more. I need to finish my last library book too. 

I spent a lot of much needed time by the water. As much as I love where I live, I don’t particularly enjoy being landlocked. We even went on a sailboat tour. I raised one of the sails, so I am considering that my workout for the weekend.

My parents are visiting in about one month so I am already picking out the great bookish spots to bring them. I haven’t even checked the weather yet… I am hoping it has cooled down somewhat since I left, but I am not holding my breath on that one. I’ll be updating soon with more book reviews and life happenings!
