Final Girls

Three women are bonded by three tragedies. Those three were sole survivors in separate massacres and have now been named the Final Girls. When the first is found dead, the second, Sam, emerges from hiding and lands on the doorstep of Quincy, the third Final Girl. Things aren’t as they seem as Quincy races to reveal truths and protect herself… all while being forced to confront her horrific past. 

This was my second book by Riley Sager. I had read Lock Every Door from Book of the Month Club and then was recommended this. Final Girls hooked me from the beginning. While the thrillers I typically read focus on the main murder and killer, this follows survivors after the fact. You immediately know something isn’t quite right, but you don’t know what. Sager delivered several twists that shocked me. I thought I had it all figured out and then realized I was completely wrong. 

I never found any parts slow. This book held my interest and was the perfect length. The writing was descriptive and put me right there on those tragic nights. The story delved into the mental health struggles of these survivors and how they live in spite of their pasts. It kept me turning the pages and delivered some scary plot lines that you’d find on Criminal Minds. 

I am officially a big fan of Riley Sager and look forward to his future work!
