Finally a Restful Weekend

As you know, I went on vacation last weekend. Except it was definitely the type of vacation where you are more tired after you get back. Friday finally came and I was so happy to be able to have a relaxing weekend.

I have spent my time reading (although I am not too thrilled about my library book I picked up) and watching Netflix. Because the fall semester started, I figured it was a great time to start my almost-annual re-read of Harry Potter. The only problem was that all of my hardbacks were back at home with my parents. I hadn’t packed them for grad school. Luckily for me, I live by an Amazon Bookstore and can pick up the paperbacks for the Prime price (~ $7 each). I have 1-5, so I just need to get 6 and 7 to finish out my Harry Potter shelf on my bookcase. I was going to buy them all at once, but I thought the cashiers might think I was weird… Re-reading Harry Potter is always a favorite of mine, and I now do that instead of watching TV before bed.

On the Netflix front, I’ve been watching Mindhunter. If you didn’t already know, I am super into true crime. I had been holding off on Mindhunter for what… 2 years now? Well I just finished Season 1 and I am obsessed. I heard Season 2 is even better, and I am super stoked to start later this evening.

I’ve figured out my sleep schedule so even on weekends I can wake up around 8 AM on my own and be asleep before 11:30 PM.

Work has been great. I joined one of the lab’s big projects and I’m really excited to start helping out with that. I think I have finally reached a level of content and stability where I can make moves.

Of course, life isn’t all rainbows and unicorns and I’m still struggling a bit. Working through forgiveness, missed connections, and prioritizing myself. Based on the last couple of weeks, I think I am finally moving forward in all aspects of life.

Until next time…
