Beginning the Wedding Planning Process with a Venue Tour

*I will not be naming any vendors unless we choose them for our wedding.

My partner and I went on our first wedding venue tour today! This time is especially exciting because unlike before, we are actually shopping for venues. That was one of my biggest mistakes in 2018/2019. I fell in love with an idea. We looked at only one place and had our heart set on it. Had we gone through with the wedding, it would have been extremely costly and with okay quality. 

This time around, we wanted to browse around and try to get the most with our money. Venue #1 was absolutely beautiful. We loved the space and grounds. Bonus points for having 7 longhorns on site that you can pet and feed treats to! 

It did seem a bit pricey for what we were getting. They provide the space, alcohol, and chairs/tables, but we would need to use outside vendors for everything else. That’s the beauty of going on multiple tours though. We can compare and contrast and decide if this is truly worth the money. 

My first piece of advice from this experience? Take note of what is included in the venue rental!! The rental price may seem wonderful at first, but you have to consider how much it will cost to decorate the space and what you will need to provide yourself.

I am excited to continue touring venues and making a decision soon! This is definitely the highest priority so we can secure a date. Then I will be able to relax a little, focus on work, and let our wedding planner handle all of the other details.
