February 2020 Update
It’s the second month of the year, and I already almost forgot to write up a monthly update. I didn’t miss it though! It’s a leap year which means I technically have one more day 🙂
I actually had to pull up my calendar to try and remember what I did this month. It hasn’t been very productive on the reading and writing fronts. Instead, I’ve been watching movies and TV. Obviously, I had to watch Parasite. It was truly amazing and one of the most beautiful movies I’ve watched. Aside from the plot being mind-blowing, I really appreciated the camerawork. Is that the correct terminology? I don’t know. Go ask my sister. She’s the production assistant and video editor. I also enjoyed some guilty pleasure reality television… Love is Blind, anyone??
I’ve advocated basically zero times this month, and that’s okay. I will get back to it–especially in April when I will be presenting at the Adoption Knowledge Affiliates annual conference (click HERE for details). I haven’t had much time to think about advocacy because work has been busy, and I am, once again, moving next month. It’s a bit stressful, but I am seriously praying that this move will actually last longer than 12 months. I am extremely tired of packing up my stuff and then living out of boxes for the weeks I am moving in. The one good thing about moving is that it forces me to clean out my stuff and get rid of all the junk I have accumulated in the last year. I’ll be posting about that in the future, so stay tuned.
I am going to continue working hard and will hopefully be getting back onto my normal reading schedule. I must admit it is nice (and economical) to only read one book every 1-2 weeks. My reading and reviewing started to feel like a chore, and I really did not want one of my greatest loves to become that. I’m snuggled up on the couch with my dog, cat, and a fuzzy blanket. I’m hoping to finish writing a chapter of my book and then reading and getting a good night’s sleep. I’m still posting my book reviews regularly and will hopefully be getting some more advocacy and lifestyle blogs out.
Until then, continue taking care of yourself!
